Post Mastectomy Breast Reconstruction
Post mastectomy breast reconstruction is performed either simultaneously with the mastectomy using silicone implants or later, after cancer treatments recommended. Subsequent reconstruction can be done by wearing a medical device like a milking pump breast milk (the BRAVA system) necessary to create a space for fat transplantation which will restore the breast with the patient’s own cells. Breast reconstruction can be done after mastectomy surgery, using an expander to create enough space for a silicone implant to suit later, symmetrically with the other breast.
A further step is the reconstruction of the nipple and areola with a plastic technique by medical tattooing. Requires local anesthesia (without hospitalization) and general anesthesia (with a one-day admission).
Breast soft tissue tumors removal is the surgery procedure which removes the mammary tumors. Invariably they are analyzed to determine the final hystopathological nature. The procedure is painless and does not require hospitalization. It can operate under local anesthesia. Healing occurs in 2-3 days.
Surgical treatment of retracted nipple is achieved by adjusting the nipple shape. The result is final. Hospitalization not required. Pain is minimal.
Treatment of gynecomastia (male breasts) is achieved by liposuction or by combining transareolar excision of the mammary gland with liposuction. Hospitalization is not required. Pain is minimal / moderate. You may need an MRI exam and CT scan.
